Barbie celebrates the year 2000 in grand style, wearing a spectacular ensemble worthy of such a momentous occasion. Sparkling silver jeweled straps accent her sophisticated, silhouette-style halter gown, which is embellished with rhinestones and ends in a slightly flared hem. Silvery glitter starbursts and the year "2000" add pretty touches to the shiny red fabric of her gown, and serve as festive reminders of the new millennium. A floor-length red satin stole, turned back to reveal its silvery lining, drapes gracefully around Barbie doll's shoulders. Red and silver ornaments decorate her hairdo, and long dangling earrings in the shape of a star add the final glamorous touch.

Barbie 2000 is in mint condition, and she has never been removed from her excellent condition box.  She comes with a doll stand and a Certificate of Authenticity.  This spectacular beauty would be perfect as a special addition to a time capsule to remember the once-in-a-lifetime Millennium year 2000!

Barbie has a lovely upturned face with large blue eyes and a closed mouth adorned with a dark shade of pink lipstick.  Her hair is absolutely beautiful, with large auburn-red curls all around her head tied with a blue satin bow on top of her head.  Barbie wears a fitted blue satin jacket trimmed in lace, with faux pearl buttons that match her faux pearl earrings and ring.  Her overskirt is made of white satin with a diamond pattern, and it has a pretty pink ribbon bow that matches the bow on her jacket, and even the pink bow around the neck of her little lamb!  The bottom skirt of her dress is yellow and white striped satin, trimmed with lace around the edge of the skirt.  She wears blue and white "spectator shoes", which are a replica of old-fashioned lace-up shoes.  Included with Barbie are a little white lamb, a doll stand, a hairbrush,  and a reply card that looks like an old-fashioned spelling primer book.

Barbie is in mint condition, and she has never been removed from her box.  The box quality is good, with a minor amount of shelf-wear which does not affect the display quality of the doll.

"Between Takes Barbie" is a glamorous doll featuring Barbie dressed as an elegant Hollywood celebrity movie star, and it is the second doll in the "Hollywood Movie Star" Collection which was released in 2000 by Mattel.

"Between Takes" Barbie celebrates the era of glamorous movie stars in Hollywood's Golden Age in the 1940's, at the height of popularity of stars like Rita Hayworth, Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, and Joan Crawford.  Barbie is relaxing between filming scenes in her epic movie, wearing a pale aqua charmeuse and chiffon negligee.  A long attached train and a dramatic aqua marabou stole add a touch of elegance to her gown.  Always dressed as a star even while lounging in her dressing room, Barbie wears dazzling faux pearl and rhinestone jewely, including a fantastic necklace, earrings and a bracelet.

The back of the box shows 4 of the different dolls in the "Hollywood Movie Star" collection, including in clockwise order from the top left:  "Hollywood Premiere", "Day in the Sun", "Publicity Tour", and "Between Takes".  The final doll in the series "Hollywood Cast Party" was released later, and is not shown on the back of this box.  "Between Takes" Barbie says on the back of the box "My dressing room is my home away from home!"
