| Isle of Man - 2006 Exotic Shorthair Cat Coin | |
|
|
The
Exotic Shorthair Cat. This coin is
the 19th of the series, and it features 3 beautiful Exotic Shorthair kittens on the front of the coin, and a
picture of Queen Elizabeth II on the other side of the coin.
The Exotic Cat was created in the 1950’s by crossbreeding Persian Longhair and British Shorthair cats. Exotic cats have a similar body to the Persian’s short, broad frame and large head. They have a short nose which has a distinct ‘break’ in it and huge adorable round eyes. The easy going nature of the Exotic cat allows it to fit into any cat lover’s home at any age as they stay playful as adults and bring pleasure for many years. The Exotic is a wonderful addition to any family. This coin is CuNi (Cupro Nickel) in a Brilliant Uncirculated minting. |

The 2006 Exotic Shorthair Cat coin is also available in a "Colorized" version. The colorization process is done by the mint that makes the coin, and the colorization process consists of painting an enamel finish over the raised areas of the coin to illustrate the details in color. The colorized details of the Exotic Shorthair kittens are painted to show multi-colored fur accents on each cat, plus beautiful colored eyes on each of the 3 cats, resulting in an absolutely beautiful keepsake coin! This coin is made of CuNi (Copper-Nickel) in a Brilliant Uncirculated minting, which shows amazingly fine detail on the finish of the coin. It is a large coin -- approximately 38.6 mm in diameter, which is slightly larger than the size of a United States Eisenhower dollar. The coin comes encased in plastic inside a lovely color presentation card, decorated with pictures of adorable cats on the front and back of the presentation card (see photos of the presentation card to the left). |
