Sleeping Babies from "10 in the Bed" Book

"10 in the Bed" Baby Doll Collection

Baby Relda is one of four baby dolls designed by Anne Geddes to complement her picture book "10 in the Bed", which was inspired by the classic nursery counting rhyme.  We also offer Baby Stephanie from the same doll series below.  

Relda is an African-American doll with an adorable face, big brown eyes, and brown yarn hair tied in two ponytails.  She is wearing a brightly-colored knitted outfit, featuring a red shirt; striped green, blue, red and yellow skirt; black tights; and yellow and black shoes.  As with all the dolls in this collection, her soft cloth body is nicely weighted with a beanbag filling and all her limbs are moveable.  Relda is a medium-sized doll, at 15 inches tall.   The box states that she is for ages over 18 months.  She is in mint condition, and has never been removed from her excellent condition box.    This is a nice quality unique huggable doll!

Stephanie is a Caucasian doll with an adorable face, big blue eyes, and yellow yarn hair tied in two ponytails.  She is wearing a brightly-colored red polka-dot dress, embellished with patchwork squares of hearts, dogs, and red stripes.  As with all the dolls in this collection, her soft cloth body is nicely weighted with a beanbag filling and all her limbs are moveable.  Stephanie is a medium-sized doll, at 15 inches tall.  The box states that she is for ages over 18 months.  She is in mint condition, and has never been removed from her excellent condition box.    This is a nice quality unique huggable doll!

We are pleased to offer Holiday Kelly Doll in either Caucasian or African-American styles.  Both dolls have sweet happy faces with big smiles, and their shining hair is styled with bangs in the front and ringlets around their face.  The Caucasian doll has bright-blue eyes and blonde hair, while the African-American doll has brown eyes and black hair.  Kelly is dressed for the holidays in her pretty red party dress which has a maroon-red velvet bodice and sleeves, and a brick-red satin skirt.  The sleeves end with matching red satin poufs at her wrists, and she wears matching red velvet shoes over white tights.  Her dress is accented with a lovely white and gold lace collar which has a large silver flower design in the middle of each section of the collar.  Her dress also has 3 golden rose buttons down the front, gold braid around the waist and sleeves, and gold and white lace around the waist and hemline.  Holiday Kelly even comes with a matching present for your favorite little girl wrapped up in a little green box -- 2 matching red hair bows!

Holiday Kelly is a medium-sized doll, at 15 inches tall.   She is in mint condition, and has never been removed from her excellent condition box.   This Holiday Kelly Doll was sold during the 2000 Christmas season for $40-$60, and she is now very hard to find.  Although Holiday Kelly was targeted at the holiday market, she can be enjoyed all year long since her red dress is pretty enough for any occasion.  This doll would be a wonderful present for your child or grandchild, because they can really play with this pretty doll!

The back of the box says "Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy were created as storybook characters by Johnny Gruelle in 1918.  In the stories, Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy are dolls filled with happy thoughts, dolls whose faces are bright with smiles and whose shoe-button eyes twinkle with happiness.  They're joyous and kind dolls with warm, generous friends.  But not only are Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy storybook dolls, they are real dolls, too.  Dolls who have brought love and laughter to millions of children.  They are classic dolls -- ideal gifts for any child."

Her face, hands, and legs are made of fine bisque porcelain, which is a fine-grained translucent white clay mined in China.   Her delicate porcelain features are created through an exacting process where liquid porcelain is poured into a mold, fired in a kiln, polished until smooth, handpainted, and refired in a kiln.  Her facial features include hand-painted cheeks and lips.  Her eyes are a pretty blue-gray color and they are framed by long eyelashes which were hand-applied by the manufacturer.   Her hair is shining and honey-gold in color, and it is curled into Victorian ringlets all around her face and shoulders.  She wears a beautiful purple chiffon bow on top of her head, accented with pink and purple washed-silk cabbage roses.  Be sure to view the beauty of her eyes, face, and hair, by clicking on the picture of her face to see a larger image.

Her dress is made of deep purple velvet, embellished in royal purple trim on the collar, cuffs, and hemline of the dress.  The dress is strikingly accented with 6 beautiful washed-silk ribbon cabbage roses -- 3 roses are in varying shades of rose pink, and 3 roses are in varying shades of  blue and purple, and all 6 roses are decorated with green leaves.   The pink rose at her waist is attached to a sheer royal purple chiffon ribbon which is tied around her waist into a bow.  There are several layers of underskirts under the dress to give the skirt the proper drape, including a royal purple tulle outer skirt, a purple satin inner skirt, and a white netting inner skirt.  She is wearing white pantaloons, and her porcelain legs are covered with white hose.  She wears simple black shoes, standing atop her wooden stand.

This is a truly beautiful doll that compares in quality and appearance to dolls typically selling for three times the price or more, giving you the quality you want at a price you can afford.  This doll would be a thoughtful gift for any doll collector, because they will appreciate her beauty and the quality of her construction.  She would also be a wonderful Birthday or holiday gift for any little girl who loves dolls, because you can actually afford to let your favorite little girl play with this doll!
